The HUQ

'De Kroes' (The HUQ) offers a fixed place in a dynamic environment in the heart of Utrecht's city center. The live-work concept is at the core of this development. Due to its extensive mix of functions, 'De Kroes' presents itself as an embodiment of societal trends and developments.

Program: A multifunctional building with a public base and shared facilities including hospitality, retail, culture, sports and wellness, offices, live-work units (SOHO), Art Space, and a broadly diversified housing program with 309 residences.

Size: A total of 86,325 sqm GFA excluding parking. 44,305 sqm residential, 9,970 sqm commercial base, Cross Creative Art Centre and sports, 13,200 sqm workspaces, and 7,950 sqm bicycle storage and parking garage.

Period: 2017, Design competition for the Municipality of Utrecht, 3rd place, in collaboration with architect Group A.
